Clothing Swap

February 26th, 5:30 pm

Give your closet a refresh! Out with the old and in with the new to you. Dig through those closets and drawers and find those items no longer in use... then swap them for fabulous new finds.

Don't have anything to bring - NO PROBLEM! You don't need to bring anything other than yourself to "shop".

This event is totally free and open to everyone. Shelf is ALWAYS a safe space and a judgement free zone.

Now for some BIG NEWS!

Shelf is relocating! We will be moving to Virginia in June of 2026. This is a bittersweet change, but we are excited to start a new chapter.  We can’t express how thankful we are to have connected with so many of you over the years- you truly have become our friends and family. It is all of YOU who have made Shelf more than a business, more than a bookshop; you gave us community and we will be forever grateful.  

Our staff is the heart of Shelf and there are not enough words to express how much you all mean to us- from our very first employee (Tristen) to our last (Mel, Mads, ZB, Jovi, Kelsey, and Val) and everyone in between- we love you. 

Now, I’ll stop crying and get to the details. Our new location will be in Waynesboro, Virginia. It is double the size with separate rooms for rare and collectible books, an office for Nikki, as well as event space! And, if I can convince Donna and Cody, maybe even a shop cat. While we will add a cafe later, we are excited to focus on our true passion - being booksellers.  

Don’t panic! Shelf will continue to serve yummy food and drinks through May (we shall leave no college student unfed!). We will continue to take books for trade credit and keep our inventory new and exciting. If you have trade credit or gift certificates, stop in and use them!
